A Birthday Surprise in Disneyland Paris

Last month (been lazy in posting) it was my Birthday and I was whisked away by Steve on a surprise adventure. I knew we’d be flying as we were going to Heathrow, but I wasn’t told where until he gave me my boarding pass as we were checking-in our bags. For weeks before I had all these places running through my mind but it was a complete surprise when I saw Paris on the ticket – because we’d both been before and I expected Steve to choose somewhere he hadn’t been before.

Then he whispered, ‘but we’re not going Paris really’.. and confused, I asked ‘is there a connecting flight?’ then he told me those four magic words that everyone’s 8 year old inner-self wants to hear. ‘We’re going to Disneyland’.

DISNEYLANDD!! It’s safe to say I was pretty excited.

The whole weekend was amazing, i’d never been to Disneyland before and it was better than I could have ever imagined. We ate lots of lovely food from places like Gordon Ramsay’s Plane Food at the airport and Walt’s in the Disney Village. I braved a few rides (i’m a total wuss) and I got a bit scared when Tigger bounced a bit too eagerly over too me. I also got captured by bandits but luckily was saved by men on horseback. This was all among lots of lovely wandering around hand in hand and generally enjoying each others company. It was bliss!
